AS and ASM coating

As a manufacturing technology, hot stamping offers a great deal of potential for cost and weight reduction in automotive engineering.

For this, it is often necessary to coat the surface with aluminum silicon (AS) for the process. In some cases, magnesium (ASM / AS Pro) can also be integrated into the coating to maximize component safety and reduce manufacturing costs and energy throughout the process chain.

Hot stamping is particularly suitable for highly complex and crash-relevant structural components in cars. Thanks to the high ultimate strength of the material, it is possible, for example, to realize A/B/C pillars which have comparatively thin material thicknesses and are therefore particularly lightweight but still crash-resistant.
